Christmas Lights 2018
This years Christmas Lights switch on was held on Saturday 1st December. What a fantastic turnout from everyone to support us and in not the best weather conditions too.
A big thank you to Heather for switching on our tree this year, we really appreciate all her help with storage of our lights. Without her, we would be really stuck and wouldn't be able to have quite so many lights.
Santas Grotto was a massive success and his Elves were certainly kept busy.
Huge thanks to the following people/businesses who have supported the Christmas lights fund so far .....
-
Feock Parish Council
-
Cornwall Council Community Chest funding from Cllr Martyn Alvery
-
SR Electrical
-
HJ's Hair Salon
-
Mr G's School of Motoring

Penventon Christmas Tree Farm
This year, to try and ease the crowding on the pavements around the Village Hall, we applied to Cornwall Council for a road closure. This was a good call on our behalf as it allowed us to have Kea Community Choir leading the singing around the tree and also Frankies were able to serve some yummy burgers, bacon rolls and chips. These proved very popular especially with the damp weather
Inside, the entertainment was just as good, Mulled wine and mince pies were on sale from the kitchen. A Christmas based craft fayre was in the main hall where you could get those last minute gifts and we had live musical entertainment in the new hall all evening.
As part of our ongoing fundraising for future Christmas lights, we held a raffle. We unusually had just 2 prizes, but what fantastic prizes these were.
1 - A weekend campervan hire, very kindly donated from Truro Motorhome Centre. This prize was worth over £300, so for £1 a ticket, it was worth going for.
2 - A barrow full of bottles which included a bottle of Jack Daniels. Again, at £1 a ticket, this was a prize worth winning, especially in the run up to Christmas.
